Get ready to time travel, folks. We're rolling out the red carpet for our latest exhibit that's throwing a big birthday bash for the Mecklenburg Declaration of Independence. This isn't just any old history lesson; we're diving into the nitty-gritty of what happened back in 1775, the whole "let's declare ourselves independent" vibe, and how it still makes Charlotte the cool city it is 250 years later. With an interactive diorama that shows off Charlotte as it was in the 1770s, you'll get to see how our ancestors managed life with no Wi-Fi and still managed to throw a pretty decent revolution.
You'll be able to gawk at original documents, shiny artifacts from the Revolutionary Era, and a treasure chest of memorabilia from past celebrations that proves we're really serious about our history (and that we like to throw a good party). We promise you'll leave with a newfound appreciation for what the Mecklenburg Declaration means for us here in the Queen City, and who knows, you might even get some fun anecdotes to share at your next dinner party. Just a heads-up on the admission fees: adults are looking at $10 plus tax, while seniors, kids, and students get a sweet deal at $7. And for the littlest ones aged 0-5, it's on the house.
